Combined Effect of Salinity and LED Lights on the Yield and Quality of Purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) Microgreens

چکیده
The present work aims to explore the potential improve quality of purslane microgreens by combining water salinity and LED lighting during their cultivation. Purslane plants were grown in a growth chamber with light insulated compartments, under different sources on 16 h d−1 photoperiod—fluorescent lamps (FL) two treatments, including red blue (RB)) spectrum red, far (RB+IR) lights spectrum—while providing all them intensity 150 µmol m−2 s−1. Plants exposed adding 0 or 80 mM NaCl. Biomass, cation anions, total phenolics (TPC) flavonoids content (TFC), antioxidant capacity (TAC), chlorophylls (Chl) carotenoids (Car) fatty acids determined. results showed that yield was increased 21% both RB RB+FR compared FL non-salinity conditions. nitrate reduced 81% 91% when RB+FR, respectively, as light, 9.5% saline conditions lowest oxalate contents obtained combinations salinity. Cl Na leaves also Microgreens reached highest TPC, while TFC, Chl Car. Finally, acid not affected salinity, but these factors slightly influenced composition. It is concluded use production, since it improves product, reducing anti-nutritional compounds.

Effect of Salinity on Biomass Yield and Physiological and Stem-Root Anatomical Characteristics of Purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) Accessions
13 selected purslane accessions were subjected to five salinity levels 0, 8, 16, 24, and 32 dS m(-1). Salinity effect was evaluated on the basis of biomass yield reduction, physiological attributes, and stem-root anatomical changes. Aggravated salinity stress caused significant (P < 0.05) reduction in all measured parameters and the highest salinity showed more detrimental effect compared to co...
